How To Get Rid Of Belly Fat After Pregnancy
by Ryan M Hall Fat Loss Expert and Author of The 20/20/20 Diet
Pregnancy can take a lot out of you and even if it’s been a while, your body is way different than it was before the baby. Not only in the way you look and feel, but in the way it reacts to your normal daily routine. This leads many women ask how to get rid of belly fat after pregnancy. Here are a few things you need to think about and a few guidelines to follow.
Remember that even if it’s been years, your body is different, your hormones are different, and the amount of nutrients your body thinks it needs to hold on to is different. After a baby, the hormones that tell your body to store fat have changed and you have to make a very specific and dedicated effort to get your body back into shape before they will return to normal. Many women find it very hard to get rid of belly fat even long after the baby is born.
Don’t expect it to happen all at once, and don’t try to make it happen all at once. Starving isn’t healthy, and exercising too much isn’t healthy. That being said, you should follow some very basic diet guidelines:
- Eat lean meats like fish, chicken and lean beef.
- Eat Eggs for breakfast if you can.
- Try to get your fat from healthy fat sources like nuts, avocados and olive oil.
- When you feel snacky, eat fruit, fresh vegetables, nuts, or low fat dairy products.
- Never, ever, ever get hungry. If you start to get too hungry, then you will be more likely to eat something that isn’t good for you or to over eat at your next meal.
Exercise is just as important for your tummy as diet is, so don’t neglect it, but be informed. Traditional cardio won’t get you the results you want very quickly so I have a few suggestions.
- Do interval training. This is where you exercise intensly for a set period of time then take a rest and then resume intense exercise. You continue this pattern for a set number of intervals, usually 8-12 and then stop.
- Do resistance training. If you really want to see a flat tummy fast, resistance exercise is best way to do it. Toning your muscles, doing squats, mountain climbers, lunges, pushups, and basic core exercises are the fastest way to a slim waistline.
Don’t fall for all the hype about magic miracle weight loss pills or drinks, good nutrition and an effective stomach tightening exercise plan are the only answer to the question of how to get rid of belly fat after pregnancy.
