How Does Hoodia Help You Lose Weight?
And Should You Even Consider It?

Hoodia Gordonii is a South African plant that has been very quickly gaining popularity as a weight loss supplement. This is because long ago, hunters in Africa would chew on Hoodia so they could spend days hunting without becoming hungry. Hoodia only grows in these desert conditions, and they found they could survive days without getting hungry. How does hoodia help you lose weight? It suppresses hunger. But how does it do that.

It is believed that ingesting Hoodia slows down the process that tells your body that it’s hungry and speeds up the process that sends signals to the brain that you’re full. So, your brain thinks your full, instead of hungry. You may actually be starving, and your body may enter starvation mode, but something in the plant keeps your body from knowing this. This may sound like a dream come true for most people who struggle with dieting, but it can actually make you gain more weight in the end.

If you want to build muscle, tone up your body and most importantly, lose belly fat, you absolutely have to eat. You have to eat healthy fat burning foods, but you have to eat. If you eat Hoodia or other appetite suppressants, you will actually destroy your chances for losing fat.

How? You might ask.

When you don’t eat, or don’t eat enough, your body not only loses water weight and fat, but it starts to burn up your muscle. This means that when you use appetite suppressants, you actually slow down your metabolism. As most of you know, a slow metabolism means a fat body. You can’t have a toned sexy body and six pack abs if your metabolism is slow and you’re burning muscle to live.
Here’s the even scarier part. Remember when I said “it is believed that ingesting Hoodia…” I said it is believed because we’re not entirely sure exactly how it works. This is because we don’t test this African Herb. We also don’t know if it has any long term side effects, do you know why? Because we don’t test it. It could cause heart attacks or other long lasting side effects, we just don’t know. Having a sexy six pack is great, but it’s not worth risking your health.

If you want the body of a fitness model or movie star, you have to follow a proven fat burning diet and exercise plan that builds or tones your muscles. Something that has been tested and proven, something natural and healthy, something this African herb just can’t give you. You need something that will actually increase your metabolism.

How does Hoodia help you lose weight? The honest answer is that we really don’t know. We know it suppresses hunger and forces your body to burn muscle to survive. While using it, your metabolic rate will slow down and you will enter survival mode, an unhealthy condition where your body stops burning fat and uses muscle to move about your day. You may see a difference in initial weight, and the scale may change, but it’s not healthy. The sooner you look for a proven, healthy and natural fat loss plan, the quicker you’ll have the body of your dreams.
